Among the many great features provided by the Vector 940 radar detector, you'll get complete access to Vector's Flash Technology, which makes it easy to reprogram your device as new police traffic radar monitoring technologies emerge. There's also Shadow Technology II, which makes your 940 undetectable to the well-used Interceptor VG-2 Radar Detector Detector, and you'll get driver-selectable features that allow you to customize how alerts will be presented to you. Alert types include: Laser Alert, X Band Alert, K Band Alert, and Ka Band Alert.
To get you started, the 940 comes with a Tutorial Mode that walks you through the various settings for each situation, including highway and citywide modes. There's also screening for the Safety Warning System, which warns motorists of potential road hazards by employing Safety Warning System transmitters in areas such as construction zones, accident sites and detours. These transmitters operate within the 24 GHz portion of the K band frequency, and broadcast uniquely coded signals that are detected by the 940 unit.
